Christianity is the most widespread religion in the world (with about 2.18 billion members; almost a third of the world's population) and the great paradigm of Western culture since it was accepted, imposed and established as the official religion of the Roman Empire in the 4th century AD.

“Deus Vult” (“God wills it”) was the popular cry of acclamation at the time of the declaration of the First Crusade by Pope Urban II at the Council of Clermont in 1095. Then this was chanted by Catholics during the First Crusade in 1096 as a rallying cry.

Throughout history, there are about 16.000.000 deaths in the name of God and painters from around the world have reflected in their paintings the barbarities caused by "God's will".

Deus Vult (this project) is made up of 13 wooden crosses built by myself and lined with 13 paintings by artists that reflected the fanatical barbarities linked to the Christian religion.
